Every store has cameras. Almost nobody is watching.
Omicent exists to close that gap, for the single-store owner and the thousand-store chain alike.
Walk into almost any store and you’ll find cameras covering the aisles. Walk into the back office and you’ll find the recorder, quietly overwriting footage nobody had time to look at. The video is there. The attention isn’t.
Shoplifting takes seconds, and it happens while staff are serving customers. By the time a loss shows up at inventory, the moment is long gone. Guards cover a door, not every aisle. Hiring someone to watch screens all day doesn’t make sense for most stores.
Omicent watches every camera, all day, for the specific moves shoplifters make: an item into a bag, under a jacket, into a waistband, or passed to a partner. When it sees one, the store team gets a short clip on their phones in under a minute, while the shopper is usually still in the store.
A Dragonfruit AI company
Omicent is a Dragonfruit AI company. Dragonfruit’s video AI runs in production at more than 15,000 sites, for retailers including Canadian Tire, Tractor Supply, Smart & Final, lululemon and American Eagle, and was one of ten vendors highlighted in Gartner’s 2024 Hype Cycle for Computer Vision.
How we build
Movement, not identity. Omicent reads hands and posture. It never uses facial recognition and never follows anyone across visits or stores.
Useful at 4 PM on a Saturday. Every alert has to make sense to a busy store manager glancing at a phone. If it isn’t clear what happened, it shouldn’t be an alert.
Sharper every week. Models learn from real store video across many retailers, so every new store starts with everything learned so far.
